Thermolab Trinity CPU Cooler Review

Today we look at one of the newest offerings from the folks at Thermolab called the Trinity. The Thermolab Trinity is designed for balanced performance, low noise and good compatibility. It’s a Heatpipe Direct Touch cooler sporting a 130mm fan, so it should do pretty well from the looks of things. Join us to see how the Trinity holds up against more than a dozen other CPU coolers on our Intel Core i7-930 test bench.

Overall, I am happy with the Thermolab Trinity CPU HSF. The cooler is a solid performer, easy to install, and coming in at the $55 mark, it is easy on the wallet. Thermolab is still new to some enthusiasts; Trinity is their 7th cooler for the enthusiast market, but they are doing well. The Trinity was within 4 degrees of the top coolers throughout most of the testing. Looking at just the air coolers at 4GHz, the Trinity comes in 3rd place, but is less expensive than the two coolers that beat it: the Zalman CNPS9900 Max and the Prolimatech Super Mega.

How much longer before we get a heatsink with a 200MM fan? I like the included accessories. I wish more companies did this with their heatsink bundles. Hell Thermalright doesn't like to give you a fan and only one set of fan clips.

200mm fans LOL don't give'em any ideas. The Prolimatech Genesis can accommodate triple 140's.

200mm fan lol. Yeah but they'd have to put in a new case standard to accommodate it; Double Wide.

The day has come... Stock it rocks 4 x 100MMx100MM fans, so basically a 200MM fan.

Never said it was pretty, or functional. But someone had to have the balls to try it first I guess. Too bad the Zalman passive cooled case never really came to fruition.
