the GTO could be flashed to x850xt pe and then it's not such a rip off is it?

In all seriousness though, the GTO^2 (and ONLY the ^2 version) is a great deal, assuming all goes well in the flashing process. I would recommend getting an aftermarket cooler, or at the very least, see how hot your card would get at 850XT speeds before going ahead with a full flash...you don't want to kill the card

The PCI-Express 6800's don't unlock. The X800GTO² does. I would know because I happen to have one. I clocked it up to 587/1236 (past XT PE!), from a stock clock of 400/980.
