Seagate Momentus XT

Post by DragonFury »

What are your thoughts regarding this type of HDD? I am going to pick up a laptop in the next week or two, and the 5400 RPM HDD is just way to damn slow. SO I figured I pick up an XT drive. SSD's are way out of my price range for any viability so that is out of the question.

dont get it, not worth paying more. you would never notice the flash is being used, it isnt faster than any other 7200rpm drive

I looked at some reviews a couple weeks back, and the 7200RPM WD black drives are faster than the XT.

I ended up not being able to afford it for the laptop. I just stuck in a 320 Seagate Momentus in it and it is doing quite well with just that drive.

It's not a bad drive:

But like others mentioned the newest 7200RPM notebook drives are no joke and cheaper.
