HP Selected for Veterans Affairs Contracts

IT modernization improves healthcare for U.S. veterans
PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 31, 2011

HP today announced that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has selected HP Enterprise Services as a prime contractor for the VA Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) program.

HP Enterprise Services also has been awarded the Enrollment Modernization Technical Support task order under the Veterans Relationship Management (VRM) Information Technology Solutions and Support Services (ITSS) program contract vehicle.

As prime contractor for T4 and VRM, HP will support the agency’s enterprise-wide modernization to enable improved access to benefits and healthcare for veterans.

Under the VA T4 multiple-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract, worth up to $12 billion, HP will compete for task orders to provide advanced technology solutions across multiple functional areas. The contract has a five-year base period and serves as a centralized source for the VA to buy a wide range of IT services. Expediting the acquisition and delivery of IT services will enable the agency to rapidly achieve its goal of providing world-class benefits and services to veterans.

Additionally, HP will compete for task orders under the $480 million VA VRM ITSS multiple-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract. This relationship management contract vehicle, which has a five-year base period, was developed to establish on-demand access to benefits information and services for veterans.

As a VRM ITSS contractor, HP was recently awarded an Enrollment Modernization Technical Support task order to provide applications development services. To ensure accurate and timely customer service for veterans, HP will implement an integrated IT infrastructure that will consolidate patient and military data. This consolidation will improve data sharing within the VA as well as with external departments such as the U.S. Department of Defense.

“To better serve the evolving needs of veterans while embracing advances in healthcare, the VA has implemented IT reform initiatives that will drive improvements in the delivery of benefits and coordinated healthcare,” said Dennis Stolkey, senior vice president and general manager, U.S. Public Sector, HP Enterprise Services. “As a VA T4 and VRM vendor, HP will enable the VA to easily adopt innovative technology and processes that will help ensure reliable, secure access to benefits and healthcare for all veterans.”

HP will be teaming with numerous small and veteran-owned businesses to enhance overall service offerings to the VA and meet the agency’s diverse mission-critical needs. HP has provided support services to U.S. government agencies for more than 45 years, including building, integrating, securing and operating some of the most complex environments in the world.

For the past 12 years, HP Enterprise Services has successfully delivered innovative solutions, software design and development, system engineering, infrastructure support, architecture, clinical informatics, and management resources that support the VA’s national as well as field-based programs.

In support of the VA’s goal to provide timely access to benefits and high-quality healthcare to veterans over their lifetimes, HP offers comprehensive, secure technology solutions on time and on budget. In a world of continuous connectivity, HP enables agencies to become Instant-On Governments with technology, security and innovation embedded throughout their organizations to deliver immediate services to citizens and clients.
