Maingear Phase Changing Thermal Material - Epic T1000

We discovered that Maingear is showing off a new product called 'EPIC T1000' here the FX GamExperience for the very first time. Maingear informed us that brought this Phase Change Metal Alloy (PCMA) to the retail market for enthusiasts that want to try something different when it comes to CPU cooling. This is a product that requires doing a reflow procedure, so you need to know what you are doing. Read on to check it out!

Looks pretty cool, but scary. They should do a Youtube tutorial for it.

I actually used the Indigo Xtreme version on my 870 CPU and as long as you follow the directions it works just as stated. I immediately noticed a 7C temp improvement from Arctic Silver 5 (61C from 68C at 100% load overclocked to 4.8GHz with a water cooled system). The only down side is the cost and the time it takes to do the reflow but it really wasn't that hard.

And this was on my old daily production rig I use for work, gaming, and part time writing for Legit. Be bold, jump in if you want lower temps and more room to overclock. I pushed that rig to 5.1GHz thanks to that extra headroom.
