Post by SolArgenti »

Hello,

I have a Newb question. I have 2 gaming computers. I am going to sell one and I am just wondering which one I should keep and which one I should sell.

1) AMD Phenom II X6 1035 Processor 2.60GHZ

or

2) Intel i7 2600cpu 3.40GHz

Thanks.

One thing you can do that will help decide, is perform some stress tests on both of them and compare the results of the "dxdiag" test.

Neptune has a point..

Yah right somehow specs is not the only basis to determine which one is better, it’s on the users usage.

Well I normally go for raw power snd such cause mine is used for gaming. I do have a second tower for abusing and testing software but that went up the creek and I have yet to fix it yet. But the stress tests and diag test (plus your requirements) are the best ways to decide.

The 2600K is way faster than the phenom. There is nothing to decide here. On the other hand there are other factors, when it comes to overall performance of a gaming rig: The most important would be your graphics card. You should of give us the specs of both rigs, not just the CPU. The RAM would also be faster on the intel, because sandy bridge has way more memory throughput.

Totally wrong. Specs are the basis for determining performance. Anyway post up the specs of both rigs.
