MSI today announced the release of the new MSI N760 HAWK graphics card and we have a review of it up! The MSI N760 HAWK was designed for overclockers and the GK104 GPU comes factory overclocked at 1111MHz base and 1176MHz boost! Read on to see what MSI has done to this fully custom card and see how it performs on our triple monitor setup at 5760x1080, 2560x1600 and 1920x1080!

The MSI N760 HAWK is hands down the fastest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 video card that we have yet to test. MSI designed this card from the ground up for overclockers and it looks like they did it right. The performance of this card was stellar and it overclocked faster than any other GeForce GTX 760 that we have tested before. Reaching nearly 1400MHz on the NVIDIA GK104 Kepler GPU is impressive and the MSI N760 HAWK was able to easily keep up with a GeForce GTX 680 reference card when manually overclocked....

Nice review. In my opinion the extra $40-$50 difference is way too much for a slight performance gain, that you can have anyway with some OC. The EVGA GTX 760 2GB SC edition is only $259 and is about on par with this card. As for the cooler - The first thing I do is to remove the original cooler and put the WC block on, so I wouldn't care less for all the gimmics and colorscheme. The only people that might find this card worth the extra cash, are those who use LN2 cooling and extreme OC but those wouldn't likely to buy a $300 card but rather something matching the cooler like a GTX 780 or 790...

yeah, but sadly we know the vast majority of people buying this card won't be using it for LN2. I was told the reason that no one sells a bare card (no GPU cooler) is that it invalidated the warranty the ODM has with NVIDIA for the GPU. I've long wondered why a company just doesn't offer a bare overclockers edition card. No retail box, no bundle, no heatsink, no tech support, no warranty. Just a low-cost card for overclocking w/ aftermarket cooling solutions. They blow it up? They have to buy another with no exceptions.

This is an excellent idea! Did you just wonder or did you ask them? I mean your idea dismisses their excuse (no warranty) entirely! I would be a happy buyer for such card! Of course there should be some kind of assurance against a faulty product out of the box or rather out of the antistatic bag
Anyway, I have never cared for any bundles, used their tech support or warranty since my 4200Ti in 2004 and have always removed the crapy TIM they have on GPU's, had aftermarket coolers or made one myself. Boxes? Most of us just throws them away as soon as we install the card and see it working!

I've asked and offered that idea to many companies. That is how I know about the warranty/insurance deal they have with NVIDIA. They can't get that with a bare board, so it's not worth the risk.
