The laser light used in the weapon temporarily impairs aggressors by illuminating or "dazzling" individuals, removing their ability to see the laser source.
I have a big spot light that will blind anyone that looks right at it.... wnder what will happen when a they use this thing and couple hundred people in a crowd drop in an epileptic shock due to the light in there eyes...

i they can look away and still rush the light source.... this is a pretty piss-poor explanation on how it disables large crowds, in my opinion. i don't see how a spotlight will stop people.

Have you seen the M-16 replacement? It is called the XM8 assault rifle for now and is made by H&K. http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/artic ... mn01a.html

I don't know why, but that sorta looks like a kid's toy, lol. Guess I'm not used to seeing those colors used for a rifle, lol.

The XM8 lightweight Modular Weapon System is based on the Heckler & Koch G36. In its current version, it is derived from the XM29 OICW program. The weapon fires 5.56mm ammunition and its planned weight will be only 5.7 pounds, considerably less than current carbines

that looks alot like the Irish Army's rifle!!!

"Steyr Stg.77 AUG assault rifle" (we are in talks with the Swiss to use their new rifle, the Austrians arn't the best)

http://world.guns.ru/assault/as20-e.htm

Seems modular plastics is the way of the future, lighter, cheaper, water proof and less prone to temps!

Maybe it looks like a toy because of the big XM8 graphic on the side...yuck. all it's missing is the orange colored muzzle

apparently, it's the sweetest assault rifle ever made. it can fire a few thousand rounds before it jams up, it's lighter than the m-16, it can be quickly converted into different configurations like a close quarter battle rifle, a standard carbine, a fully automatic belt fed machine gun, AND a long range sniper rifle. it also uses larger rounds or something to help provide knock-down power.

we posted this article on the laclede's lan and everyone seemed to have the same reaction.... looks like a toy :) but, i bet that once they start implimenting it, it'll undergo a new color scheme.... and they'll probably scratch out the "tyco" logo and put "h&k" instead ;)
