hey sbohdan, I meant to ask something, I know it's way off topic, but I had to know: as far as putting your system specs into the sig design, how do you do that without it being a big white box with the design around it (tried to use Paint to add a text box to put my specs in, but left behind white space rather than fading it into the background). Do I need PS to do this? If so, where can I get a free copy? thanks man. btw, I'm not too sure about the copper "foam" heat exchanger, just due to the fact it is so porous, I would be worried about breakdown of the structure over time due to contraction and expansion of the material from heating up and cooling down.

I've got the plain version from gvblake and then used paint to write over it.
PM gvblake 'cause it seems it disappeared from his post

I figured out what I screwed up on, lol. There's an option when you go to select the area where you want a text box that either leaves a white text box where you put it, or it integrates the box into the image. I got it now, got it all filled out, rofl. Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE!!!) will laugh when they see what I have compared to them, rofl...it's that bad

nobody will laugh except being a jerk. thats life. you're a student. next will be better. my very first rig was a k6-2 450 (in '86) I liked it. when I first took it home and put everything on (any goddamn app you can imagine from the net and CD's) it just froze after couple of minutes. I took it back to the store telling them they sold me crap. they looked at it and started laughing- because all the crap was running in the background, my sys. resources were like 36% after boot-up. that's when I first learned that a computer is not like all other hardware I was used to (TV, stereo etc.) that you just switch it on and go but has to be properly configured. these were my first steps with computers. and it was a k6-2. later I OC'd it to 500Mz and was pretty happy with the result

rofl, I did the same thing with my parent's computer when they first got it (they also have a K6-2 500 Mhz Compaq). I put an assload of apps and music on it, and it locked right up, lol. After that, I started looking and tinkering around inside and that's when I learned how to install memory, just 2 weeks after they got the computer. brought it right up to 512, and I remember back then that I thought it was blazing, on PC 100, rofl. That's my major start with machines and learning the components, but I started learning about using them way back when they had to old Apple machines with monochrome screens and 5.25" external floppy that took forever to load. Oregon Trail, anyone, roflmao. But yeah, you're right about the whole student thing. It sucks, but I'm trying to find a way to start buying parts, granted I can get unburied from this mountain of bills, lol

HAHAHA HAHAHA HA HA HA HA

jk ;)
Baby steps, right Paul

But anyway, back on topic:
That copper foam stuff is pretty interesting. I can see it becoming popular in small form factor machines, or even laptops.
