Hey guys and gals, I am looking for a (here comes the title again) wireless outdoor webcam, preferably with zoom and easy to use software so while my father in law is still with us i can put the live video on the laptop and let him watch for all the deer, turkey, foxes etc that come around here. He really misses that. the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) method is the best for software as he is losing a lot of control of his hands.
BIG THING - NO UPLOADING TO CLOUD - I notice a lot of these thing want to share in the cloud but with our slow and limited data internet (all we can get out here) it would cost us a fortune to have the video going online and then viewing it from there.
I currently have a webcam taped to the window sill and am using http://www.netcamstudio.com/ Netcam Studio server on his main computer to get the video and then the client program on the laptop so he can see it.
Does not have to be a webcam either. I saw some external security cameras that may work too.

I'd like to help you but I'm using ARLO!
It works! But it is Net/Cloud based!

I second the Arlo. It goes to the cloud, but only records when there is movement. They were just half off for Black Friday too.
A local buddy went to Harbor Fright and got this local recorded system - https://www.harborfreight.com/8-channel ... 63890.html
They have 20% off coupons all the time and if you are on the mailing list you get a 25% off 1 item coupon about twice a year.
It comes with 4 HD cameras and a 1TB HDD for around $215 with a 20% off coupon. You can get the 20% off coupon here - https://www.harborfreight.com/digitalsavings.html
It has 213 reviews and 198 of them are 3 stars or better.

I will check that one out!
(forgot to mention) It has to be on all the time also as the movement option probably will not work since the deer/foxes/etc are over 50 feet from the house.
I so wish the farmland would be sold around us and they would put in some more houses so maybe the cable company would run line for real internet!

Arlo will not activate at 50'. Somewhere between 20 to 25' is max.KnightRid wrote:I will check that one out!

You can watch Arlo live! Adjust the brightness and zoom in and out!
