Intel D975XBX (i975X) Motherboard Pictures

Post by Apoptosis »

The uber HOT FedEx lady just dropped off the latest Intel D975XBX motherboard and I snapped a few pictures of it. This motherboard is using the Intel 975X Chipset and comes with three, yes three, PCI Express slots on the board.

A Closer Look at the Intel D975XBX Motherboard PCIe Slots:

Papers with the board explain that it has 2 PCI Express controllers in the MCH to enable either 1 x 16 or 2 x 8 operation for the 16 PCI Express lanes. In addition to multiple thread support, the Intel 975X Express Chipset enables key performance-optimized capabilities such as support for multiple 2x8 graphics cards, Intel Memory Pipeline Technology (Intel MPT), 8GB memory addressability to enable 64-bit computing, and ECC memory support.

That looks like an enthusiasts board, From Intel? LOL
This is "the" board? -> Intel's first real board?
It's supposed to support both crossfire and sli?
This is also supposed to support Conroe?

Look forward to the review.......

It does support Crossfire and SLI this has been confirmed.

The board is already on the test bench although i'm trying to find my Intel 840... LOL

I then have to do a fresh install and benchmark and with family coming into town tonight benchmarking is going to be slow :(

This is what Intel had to say about the board:
i975 board supports extreme tweaking, and dual gfx (pls contact gfx vendors for support)

HAHA, I know!!! I'm totally the same way, I just can't get enough of this stuff. I'm supposed to be typing a 6 page paper right now, but I haven't started because Nate keeps posting all this next-gen intel stuff and I can't stop hitting the refresh button!!! LOL

If I spend even half the time doing homework as I do browsing computer/technology related material on the internet, I'm sure I would be a 4.0 student
