ask and thou shalt receive  :

Part One
Part Two
Part Three

they might be written awhile back, but the concept is the same......this should help you out most definitely. There are other articles floating around about components like the WNIC if you need some more info.....somewhere in the Notebook section, lol.

Pfff... who needs a manual?

Just slap it together and cross your fingers.

If it doesnt work, then you can read the manual.

Yeah, they are well-written, and if you decide to read the one where Apop replaces the thermal pad on the graphics card with thermal paste, I personally would recommend using AS 5.....I know Shin-Etsu is used in a lot of systems, but I always like to go with what I know. AS 5 has never failed to give me good temps and long-life reliability. In other words, it's the s**t, lol. Of course, I would assume you already know a bit about AS 5 so I won't bore you with the details

The lappy does only take SATA to clearify things up.
It is wider than i thought and lighter too. For 6lbs it sure doesnt feel like it. I am assuming that is because it is dispersed in a wider area than say my older lappy. There are 2 screws missing from the bottom but that is A-OK, nothing wrong with that at all. It is very clean and not as single scratch on it.(thought it was used) I love how thin it is in the front, i have never had a thin laptop before. One thing that gets me is the buldginess in the back that is for the ram etc. That too is ok though. It helps with erginomics and raising it for airflow.
The 2 configureable presets on the side will be nice for making shortcuts. So use to my G15 now. LOL I dont know if the "DJ center" will be any use to me, the little lcd above the keyboard, that displays cd info. (who uses cds anymore?? LOL Overall its a nice feel and seems like it wont be a bare to carry around so far 10/10!!!

best of all the pink foam!!! My grandma walked by while i was opening it and goes, not minding the laptop, "OOOOO what pretty pink foam!! LOL

She's drooling about the foam, while the rest of us are drooling over the chassis, rofl......man, that is the pinnacle of uber-sexiness in a thin book. And I thought the Asus looked good! One thing, I don't know if this has already been mentioned or not: is it a WSXGA LCD, or just a normal TFT display? kinda fond of widescreen LCD's on a laptop.

ok so i got ansy. I decided to take apart the laptop. My first at hand experience taking one apart. (well i took an old one apart and it didnt work after i put it back together, so that doesnt count)
I will post links instead of pics for cleanliness.......

Of course i had to F*** it up somehow, i cant believe i did this
ftp://mulanserving.homeftp.net/laptop/IMG_1627.JPG

The innards
ftp://mulanserving.homeftp.net/laptop/IMG_1629.JPG
ftp://mulanserving.homeftp.net/laptop/IMG_1625.JPG

The heatsink and fan
ftp://mulanserving.homeftp.net/laptop/IMG_1634.JPG
ftp://mulanserving.homeftp.net/laptop/IMG_1636.JPG

the retaining clip that slides to the right and springs up
ftp://mulanserving.homeftp.net/laptop/IMG_1639.JPG

the socket
ftp://mulanserving.homeftp.net/laptop/IMG_1637.JPG
no lever just a screw like turn to lock er down

But it is no thanks to the Qcon deal or else i would have never known what i was looking at. I know desktops like the back of my hand, this is a whole new ball game. Like all the papers, The deally whacker above the keyboard is the hardest thing to get off!! that is where i made my scratch trying to get it off. Other than that most of the rest was self explanatory, i service nextels all day so taking things apart really isnt that much of a challenge for me. LOL And yes i will be using AS 5!! :)

Thanks guys for the links and stuff (even though the pics werent there LOL)
