Finally Moved Into My House

Post by Apoptosis »

Just wanted to let everyone know that I moved into my house after 16 months of waiting. The process was a pain, but I got what I wanted in the end. If you have noticed that the site has been slow on the updates lately that is my fault and I do apologize. I currently do not have phone, cable tv, or internet at my house. I am not scheduled to have my DSL connected till 12-19-2005, so the next week I will have to drive to get internet access. CenturyTel seems to be slow on hooking people up!

Cat5 is only good if you want Gigabit IMO, cause with all the really fast/high powered wireless options, and the fact that some move their PCs...LAN is good but Wireless is better IMO, this is a late night rant so disregard if you disagree....

They didn't replace the board, but they shimmed the baseboard so it is in line with the tile again. They actually did a pretty good job on it as I couldn't tell that it was shimmed at first glance. Their caulk and paint job covered it up pretty well.

I believe Nate said he was content with it since it was no longer that noticeable.

hey Justin, when they shimmed the baseboard, it didn't crack any part of the ceiling did it? because I know when I did that to the new wall I had to put up in my house, it cracked the ceilling all the way down the middle (of course, it was plaster, and old plaster at that!). I guess just so long as it's drywall, it should be ok and you shouldn't notice a difference, but still had to ask, lol

They didn't move the 2x4 at all. just the baseboard. So no additional stress was put on the ceiling.

oh good, now let's just hope it didn't put any premature stress on the ceiling joists or the rafters....would hate to have to make a "trip" up there to "take care of some business", lol :axe:

It's not stolen wireless, the wireless is coming to your house- ;p that makes it free. Stolen is when you go over there and take it ;p

Couldn't have said it better (but I'll comment anyway :) ). It is the responsibility of the owners of a wireless router to secure their shtuff. By leaving it unencrypted (by their choice) they are giving permission to anyone to connect and use their connection.
