ATI releases Catalyst 6.3 drivers

Post by kenc51 »

Performance Improvements

As with most Catalyst® releases, performance has increased in various situations.

* 3DMark05: Pixel Shader test runs as much as 1-2% faster, primarily when Anisotropic Filtering is enabled
* Call of Duty 2: Framerates are up 5-10% on the enthusiast-class ATI Radeon® X1800 and ATI Radeon® X1900 products

Hi, we have just made Catalyst 6.3 available for your download. This time around we have a 5-10% boost in COD2, a good number of bug fixes and my favorite feature in a long time – The Avivo Video Converter. You can read about that feature here http://www.ati.com/technology/avivovide ... index.html

Note to get the Avivo Video Converter function you will need to install .Net (to get Catalyst Control Center working), the driver and CCC and then the Avivo Video Converter Engine as indicated below.

The feature is found in the basic view of CCC (i.e. the wizard)

Enjoy

heh, i just found this thread, but already had gotten the 6.2's already. i tried uninsrtalling and reinstalling the drivers and accompying software.

there's something wrong on my system with the drivers. it'll only allow 43to 60hz refresh in CCC, i'm running a 21" and 15" monitors that go up to 100hz+ refhresh rate. and if i go to the stadard "desktop properties" app and use the monitor tab i can set them both to 100hz, but i'm unsre it that works b/c my screen still looks grainy.

then there's this annoying short small sounds drop out and frame flicker the it goes back to normal tv viewing with my 9600XT AIW, like it studders.

it's very annoying. it sounds/looks like lock up in games for that split second then returns do normal play again.

is there anything i can do?

Run ATI's software remover to make sure all old drivers are gone
Then reinstall your sound card drivers while you have no GFX drivers installed.......then install the CAT 6.2 again.............

I sometimes got that prob with my old system.......I would get jerky 3D aswell....esp. in 3Dmark 05 (proxycon test)
