Question about front USB/1394 ports

Post by noondi34 »

I am planning on building a gaming PC within the next 2 weeks. I'm probably going to get an ASPIRE X-Plorer case. That case has 2 front USB ports and 1 front 1394 port. The motherboard doesn't have those front ports, right? So how do I get those front ports connected? I know how to solder, so if that is involved, I am willing.

whats with the poll..makes no sense?

If the motherbaord has the conectors for adding USB ports then yes you can add more, if it doesnt you will need a PCI addin card.

Yea, as long as the MB has the connectors, then you can hook the cables from the case to the MB and use them. If the MB doesnt have them, then you would need a new MB or like Immortal said - an add-in card.

Mike

What is with the poll..lol..figured it owuld be about USB or Firewire..lol

Most mobos should have have the font connectors, check the manual (if you have it) or online, where you bought it.

As to the poll... I'm sticking with PC gaming for now. :)

they are sometimes red.

FYI, i removed the poll only because it had nothing to do with the topic :) no worries, you broke no rules, i just thought it might be distracting and prevent you from getting the responses to you question you were looking for.
