ARRRGGGHHH! Raptors! Paging Errors! WHY?

Post by Sovereign »

I had a Raptor 150 die on me, and now have a replacement. It was working fine, until today (6/19) at about 3:54PM. I get a large number (10-20) of this error in the Event Log:
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
This is the same thing that showed up in my OLD Raptor 150 before it died. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON????????

RAID is on the 2x250GB Caviars. Thing is, when my first Raptor died, I ran the Caviars RAID0 hooked to the very same nF4 controller wiht NO ISSUES EVER. I moved the Raptor's SATA port around, and now the issue seems to be intermittent, although my boot time is significantly longer than it used to be....

I figured out what was wrong with my Raptor. Native Command Queing was on. It was corrupting my data. It got so bad that I had to install the recovery console and CHKDSK /R from there. Now those stupid Event ID 51s (error detected during a paging operation) are gone, and boot time is lower!

I bet my old Raptor 150 wasn't bad, just corrupted from NCQ crap....I HATE THAT NCQ THING. :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga: :finga:
