Treating the surface this way is actually quite the idea..increases over-all surface area.

Yep. I don't think anyone else takes that extra step either. But if your really into performance, you should use a smaller GPU block, add ramsinks and swap the heatsink on the voltage regulaters for something beefier. A low rpm fan on the card(s) would help too.

The larger gfx card waterblocks only heatup the pcb and other parts of the card even more.....not enough airflow

Yeah you are right, but i tihnk I got it covered, myself.

and actaully, i have found it a bit better on case temps for a full-cover block, and with Vista on it's way, and 3D rendering going on 100% of the time, to me this makes more sense.

I'd like to see a card design with watercooling truly in mind. I think there's quite a few good options out there, considering the number of differnt card layout there is, and really one block is just as good as another, when they all drop temps down by 50C +++(at least in my case).
