This Contest has been an Eye Opener
Rawr! I'm like Pac-Man!!
Sadly, today will only be a 2600 point day.
I've been off and on with a couple of clients because of noise in my room. I need to either get a bigger radiator or put one of my quieter fans on the rad I've got. I can't listen to my music while I sleep with that thing going.
Current list of running clients:
1.) E6600- 2 CPU clients each. CPU running stock MHz and undervolted to 1.18v (from 1.325). 2GB of memory running on that bad ass mofo ASRock Dual VSTA board. Under full CPU load total system draw peaks at 110w. With a single CPU and the X1950XTX GPU running 3D clocks it was pulling almost 200w. It needs about 20 min. per step based on project 2414.
2.) E6300 @ 3.3GHz - This thing chews through units like mad. Just a little over a day for the 600 pointers. I've been thinking of upping the clock to 3325 which should be enough speed to drop it to 23 hours per WU but I haven't confirmed that's a stable speed yet. This is the machine that isn't always running but has two clients when it is. It takes about 15min per step.
3.) Opteron 165 @ 2.8GHz- This is my file server and HTPC. Only a single client on it because of the heat and power draw. This "pokey" machine needs about 25min per step.
4.) X1950XTX @ 375 Core 1100MHz Memory. 6 minutes flat per step!! Running flat out since Saturday in the LR video card test bench. It will be taking several rest breaks over the next couple of weeks, including this weekend, if you know what I mean.
5.) AKA the 7th active CPU is a X1900XTX that runs only on the weekends that my roommate is out of town.
Anyway, I'm sure that's more than anyone cared to know but is a good insight to how much faster Conroe can fold than A64. Now I just need to get that E6600 back under water and running 3.6GHz again.
