3800 x2 hit a brick wall

Post by Dragon_Cooler »

All i have done is messed with my FSB and upped it 230MHZ for my Core speed of 2.3Ghz. Which i dont think is that bad. The only thing keeping me from going up more is the 50c barrier.

What else can i do to get higher clocks with ok temps. I think if i were to have a cooler environment (currently 75-83F) i could do a lot better. what are my next steps???

what do you mean by a 50c barrier?

Post by foxhound »

Do you mean that you cant go past 50c with out it missbehaving? or do you mean that your setup wont let the tep go past 50?

50C souldn't be a "barrier". it's only a guide ;)
What happens when you up the vcore a little more, what MHz can you hit and what are the temps like?

Give us some specs on what bios settings your using........
230MHz is not right......you should be hitting over 250MHz IMO

Water cooling might not be as espensive as you think.....I happen to know where you could get a DD setup for cheap :)

speaking of cooling i have just bought a monsoon ii and i know that there was a small difference from the nautilis 500 but im thinking of going water cooling
since you can just upgrade the water block and even spread the water cooling out to the gpu and north bridge. what should i do?
i want water cooling bad but i just blew 150 on the monsoon ii and im broke. :|
