one about the BIOS.

do i have full access to the BIOS or do i have to make som changes somwhere. so i can gain full access? (so i can start changing the FSB and so)

can`t wait to start.

can`t wait to start.

All you have to do is hit delete (on most boards) when they system is posting and you will enter the BIOS. Once you are in the BIOS you can change all the settings and you are good to go. Sorry for the delayed responses, but it's a national holiday in the states and everyone is traveling today.

any one know what program i can use to stress the machine ???

i tryed the program superPI but i didn`t understand it.

superpi is a quick and easy program to use. It calculates PI to the number of places you select. If hit run and pick 1M that means it will run Pi to 1 million places... On an Intel Core 2 Duo processor it will complete this test in well under a minute. If the processor is not stable it wont be able to round pi correctly.

finaly im home, but i have a problem. i havent installed my new fan yet
but thats not the problem. the problem is that when i enter the BIOS to make changes, it said that i can only change my FSB to 300 max.
can i somehow increse it more ?

and those temperatures on the E6300

how do you measure it. both together or seperate?
cause my idle temp per core is 30C and together they are 60C
with my stock fan at 1,86GHz...
and at heavy load they are 10C more...
and i know when you pass 80C it starts to get dangerous..

so my question is... do i have a low temp, or do i have a high temp ?

Well just looking at that quickly, the board doesn't ring a bell, which means its not gonna be a good overclocker. Secondly its VIA chipset board. Meaning its not gonna OC to save a damn. So getting 2.8 out of the E6300 is not gonna happen. Also we don't know the speed of the ram, but judging from the rest of the rig, I'm thinking value build, so its most likely PC2-5300, so the ram fsb is 266. That would mean you'd have to hit 400 FSB on that ram, and an oc that high is not gonna happen on value ram. Looking through the Conroe Database at Hard Forums, its clear that most are doing 3GHZ, but its on high end air, water, and with DDR2-6400 (Default FSB of 400). You also don't state cooling, and if your on the stock cooler then there is no way your hitting 2.8 ever.

Also SPI is not a good stability checker. Prime is still a good stability checker.

So we need Memory Speed and Cooling.
