I don't know anything about php, but would it be possible to set it to go by percentages? Like make the levels based on percentages instead of posts? That way, if someone is inactive for a long period of time, they can even slip down the scale?

that's a good idea but that is not a part of the standard phpbb package. there are a lot of mods you can do so maybe there is a way to divide each users post count by the total post count to come up with a percentage. anyone program php in here? :)

sorry about the HP/compaq comment. now let's never speak of them again.

Gateway actually bought out E Machines and now the E-Machines CEO is in charge of Gateway. E-machines are cheap pieces of crap but they are reliable. Gateways are expensive but all I've seen have been reliable. That's all we've had for the last few years until I started building computers. I've fixed a Dell before, seems like everyone has them because they are cheap. Nobody wants quality these days. People used to spend thousands on a computer that couldn't do anything and now it's a crime to spend over $500... cheap bastards
