64 3200 Venice OC

I have a new 3200 Venice and I was wondering what I can OC it to with a factory Heatsink/fan. My MOBO is a Lanparty ultra-d my ram is PC3200 so I know that limits me some, recommendations pleaase.

Not sure, but that's the fun of overclocking... go for as much as you can and see what happens!

That mobo comes with a utility that monitors temps - smartguardian. Make sure you set your bios to shut off or alarm when your CPU temp reaches a certain level as a safety net. Believe it or not, I think this is off by default.

I used to have a 3200+ but I cant remember if it was a Newcastle or Venice all I remember was that one was a good overclocker and one was a terrible overclocker and that I had the terrible one.

Venice is usu better because of the 65nm architecture.

"Venice" was 90nm and replaced the "Newcastle", which was 130nm. It was a far better overclocker than many of the older 130nm parts that it replaced ;)

Yes, that's what I meant...I just got done reading an article about 65nm so I had it on the brain

yeah my trusty socket 754 3200+ Newcastle was awesome back in the day..... wait no it wasn't lol
