LOOKING FOR GAMING LAPTOP
hey ppl im looking for 15.4 inches gaming laptop, im in the process of making money and i have around $1200-1400 and im looking for quality not for some crap stock notebooks. I want the best gaming laptop for my budget see what u guys can come up with, i will build it my self.
if you want to build it i've been looking at barebones from msi and a few other places on places liek avadirect and the msi website to get the specs. http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/product_index.asp however some of the abs laptops had decent deals and hp if you are willing to just reinstall windows fresh after you get it to take off all of their crap, same idea with dells.
Probably a barebones such as a whitebook because at 15.4 most of the retail pc companies eg dell and hp don't offer x1600 or 7600 go for the price range or size. Most of those are 17 in. best you seem to see is 7400 go. so build it find a barebones and customize it or just buy it and then get the other parts elsewhere and enjoy. I bet you can get a core 2 duo of like 2ghz and an x1600 or 7600 go with 512-1024mb ram for your pricerange if you search hard enough.
I would recommend this -> http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=5 ... odelmenu=1
I have the A8JM at home ... Core 1 with 7600 GO 512 ... this only builds on that and more ... sadly it has a 14" screen ... but doesn't bother me much ... I run Oblivion with everything cranked including HDR @ 1280x800 ... and its quite smooth ... worth about 1500-1600 ...

Here's an MSI I'd recommend if you want AMD: [urlhttp://www.msicomputer.com/NB/product_spec.asp?model=MS-16332]MS-16332[/url]
And here's somewhere that sells it for $800 bucks as barebone. RK Computers
Unfortunately, if you want C2D, MSI only has a 17" laptop that has good graphics. But it's around a $1000 just for that, from what I saw, plus the components. But if you can get a couple more hundred, you could probably do it.

Re: LOOKING FOR GAMING LAPTOP
DUDE goto bestbuy and small talk with the laptop guys and get the fx series gaming laptop with an 8800m card in it and a free game for $1100. its a gateway that is far better rated than the alienware arora m9700 since its vid card is better and it has 3gigs of memory vs 1. i think its called the gateway fx 68??
hope that helps, I know its not a 15 incher its a 17" but what the heck step it up it will be cheaper than building your own.
I always use arctic silver compounds in all my built machines. I was shocked to see a company such as gateway using this kindov impressive in a way I always thought their builds were shitty.
Ciao

Re: LOOKING FOR GAMING LAPTOP
I've got a Dell XPS M1530 that's not too shabby. Not as hardcore as the Alienware but far more affordable.

Re: LOOKING FOR GAMING LAPTOP
Ok...good luck finding an alienware gaming laptop for $1200-1400. Nice try, but not happening.
Why not get a 17" laptop? It is superior for gaming. Check out the laptop in my Sig...I picked up this little beauty a few months back for under $1200 and its a great gamer. It runs most games on high settings and runs Crysis on medium quite well for a laptop.
I haven't used it in quite a while since I just built a new Intel desktop, but I might be persuaded to sell. Yes, its still under factory warranty.
