Thermaltake issues

Post by Dragon_Cooler »

This is kind of a 2 in 1 post

First off I have been thinking about getting the Thermaltake Armour JR. or the Aguila for some time now, but I cant find the WD Raptor X add-on mount anywhere. Not in stores, online NO WHERE. Anyone know where i can get one? This also leads me to my second portion....

I have tried to submit a question to thermaletake regarding this for some time now, but half the stuff on their site doesn't work. The submit buttons on thier contact us dont work and haven't for a long time. I was wondering if anyone else is having issues or what.

Maybe someone else can lead me in the right direction for a good case so i can mount my raptor X outwards. A case similar to that of the above cases.

I got a Thermaltake Armour JR sitting here and I personally have a Raptor X -- You need the Raptor X upgrade kit: A2407

Let me dig around.

Nothing on EBAY in the USA -- found one in the UK though --

Found a couple sites saying they are not available in the USA. I e-mailed my contact at Thermaltake asking where one in the US could be found... I'll let you know when I hear back.

Just got off the phone with Thermaltake and the other sites are correct the A2407 kit is not available in the USA because any drive bay converter will work and there are already a million on the market.

I want one of the Thermal Take Armor cases. Those things are nice. Hopefully one of these years I'll actually order it. heh.

I am building a computer for a friend of mine who requested this case. All in all, the inside is amazing. I love the hard drive bay with the attached fan, and all the expansion slots it has. But what I dislike about it is the front two swivel pieces that move around when you carry it and Squeak. That and the weight gets to me. I have a Enermax Server case and it is lighter with everything inside then the Thermaltake Armor. But all in all it's sturdy and I guess a good buy.

I've had the Armor case for a short while now and I think it's my favorite case to date. Great airflow and lots of real estate.
I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong.

How is the cable managment? is there space to hide cables behind the mobo tray, ETC..?

Yeah i dont like the fins either, however they seem easy to remove.

Thanks APOP for the info, i will just have to see if i can find a drive bay converter!

Hey DC why not this case from silverstone

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811163080

Yeah, its an HTPC case, but stand it up on end, cut a window in the top to see the mobo and your good to go, with the Raptor X cubby right front and center (and you can save 20 on the combo price  )

I just got the silver (aluminum) Armor Jr. in the mail today!! It's about twice the size I expected for a Junior. I'm glad I didn't decide on the full-tower. The inside is immaculate, I ran my finger slowly on most of the edges inside and they all seem to be rounded to avoid hazard. There are two locks, enough room for a small child and I know that airflow will not be an issue, I may mod the case myself to fit a 120 mm on the side window, do something with the flaps, and add a blowhole on the top, we'll see. I cant wait till I buy the guts to this beautiful beast. I may get two Raptors to run an array, and I will definitely need to find a mount to show one off. I can't get over how awesome this thing is.
