ok im in Australia just to let u know im building a really beast with a budget of 3K-4.5KAUS and i was wondering if you guys had any ideas on what i should get so far these are the following things i am definetely getting a Dell 24inch lcd 2407 ,G15 keyboard,G5 mouse, Thermaltake Armour Black

so can someone help me come up with some sort of monster with the cpu im not sure if i should get like an e6300 or e6600 and i need a pretty powerful video card to power the monitor cause of its high resolution im going between these two X1950XTX atm im thinking going ati if not then 7950GX2 nvdia so yeh can someone give me some ideas :mrgreen: :mrgreen: 8)

If your going for that fast of a videocard and that large a resolution of monitor... and have the cash, I'd get the E6600. The cache and speed has shown it really does out-perform most out there. And its a better deal vs the E6700 or X8000-whatever (imo).

May as well go all out if you plan on using it for many years to come... the price difference, here at least between the 2 processors, is like 120-140$ USD is all... probably double there though :(

I would go with the X1950XTX....the 7950GX2s seem to have trouble handling the threads efficiently, and slow themselves down in the process.

Even in quad-SLI the GX2s don't outperform the XTX in Crossfire from the reviews I've read so far. Maybe after a driver/hardware revision the GX2s will show their true power.

I would recommend getting an 8800GTX instead, it is more powerful than any of the other GPU's, and if you have money left over/ get the itch to upgrade, you just throw another on in!
