Whats the Rumbling

Post by dgood »

So I was curious as to what AMD will be answering Intel's conroe/kentsfield processors with in the near future? Has there been any new buzz in that area. Seeing as I've always been a big amd fan. and the conroes all new architecture is blowing them out of the water atm and oc's way better.

K8L will be coming up shortly, but I know that Intel is trying their hardest to go 45nm before K8L even launches... I spoke with Intel the other day and they confirmed to me in person that penryen was running Windows XP with A0 silicon, which is a good sign. K8L does look like it will be a good performer, but seeing how Intel Kentsfield processors can all seem to overclock from 2.66GHz to 3.7Ghz I'm sure Intel can fire back a speed bump if needed.

well i'm always glad to see both sides doing great things. I just don't want to see amd fall behind seeing as they are the smaller company and I do like competition. Too bad Sun Microsystems doesn't go mainstream with some of their processors.
