How to Overclock x1950xtx

Post by dicecca112 »

Can't get the damn thing to budge a single mhz. ATItool just won't set it. CCC doen't seem to stay set.

Help!

FYI its under water so temps aren't an issue

Could I need to reinstall windows, seeing I just used DriverCleaner to get rid of the Nvidias?

yeah funny story went to do a reinstall of windows and just finished now. First I didn't do a non-quick format, had issues downloading updates, second time it was my school network is retarded, and it could download sp2, but the connection would die with in 30minutes and sp2 took 4hrs to download on my roommates comp.

Yes I did try ATI tools, I used 26 I believe. I'm gonna download what I need tomorrow and see what happens

26 still doesn't work. I'll use the sliders to set the clock, hit apply clocks and nothing happens it just goes back to the defaults.

bah it worked for second then froze. I'm starting to think there is a reason this a refurb from the egg. Am I gonna be able to RMA this thing, even though I took off the stock cooler?

Can't find an RMA page on HIS' website, sent a very very very very detailed support request though.

well when it came down to it, it was crashing in an 3d load. Something was wrong with the card, I called Newegg and gave them hell. Its out for RMA. I also noticed it was supposed to be OEM, when it fact it was a refurb or recert, what ever they call it now. The old 7900gt is under water now, just waiting for the drivers to download, we'll see what this old girl can do under water.

An innovatek block, used them b4 on a 7800gtx & x800. They are good, not the best, but I can get them locally (cheap) and the block covers the pwm area too, so no need for an extra fan inside the case

Yep! My waterblock & pumps are designed for smaller tubing anyway.
