Logitech Z-5450 Speaker System

Post by Cypher »

Mfg. Link: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ ... NTID=10928

Does anyone happen to own this particular speaker system?

I'm in the market of trying to find something to replace my Logitech X-530 system with.

The wireless transmission to the rear speakers is nice, but I've head that people have been getting horrid interference since they operate on the 2.4Ghz RF Band. It's a digital transmission system, so I don't think RF Interference would be real noticeable. But, then again just about everything wireless now days operates on the 2.4GHz RF Band.

The power of the system is also decent IMO, going from 70W total, to 315W would be nice. The 7.1 700W System dont seem too bad either, but I don't wanna end up pissing off the neighbors too much.

Heh. It's a toss up between that system and the Z-5500. The only real advantage I see with the 5500 is the fact that it has a 10" sub instead of the 6.5" with the 5450.

Plus I like the look of the 5450 a lot better.

my roomy had the 5500's (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ ... ENTID=9486)

amazing set of speakers. personally i trust wires. if there are probs its easy to fix, easy to find problems, more reliable.

I have wireless at my home and a lappy w/ a wi-fi card i still choose to use wired, faster doesnt die.

I can attest to wireless speakers wreaking havoc on other wireless thingies. My dad got a new cd/dvd player that came with a 5 channel speaker system, the rear speakers of which are wireless. Everytime we turn it on to watch something, it has to be turned off again before the computers on our wireless network can reset the connection.

Will you send me your X-530's when you no longer need them?

(j/k I have some already 8) )
AMD Opteron 1224SE "Santa Ana" = DFI Lanparty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G
Crucial Ballistix 4x1GB DDR2 800 = Corsair CMPSU-750TX
Sapphire 4870 1GB = Sceptre X20WG-Naga 20" = Logitech X-530 5.1
Seagate 320GB (SATA II) x2 = Samsung SH-S203B (SATA)

id go with the Z5500's over the 5450's anyday, it maybe wireless, but it needs power somehow right, thus it has to be plugged into a outlet to get it that power

plus, id actually say stick with the X-530's, i love mine, my buddies got a Z-2300 and it may have better sub, but i think they do the exact same to me (coming from a guy that got a home theatre in a box for x-mas 2 years ago, 170W total power, but it sounds dam good to me)

recycling or selling?

guick question, when you do eventually get those cool new speakers would you be interested in selling those older ones? they're a far cry better than anything i have (home rigged stereo)

who knows, maybe it'd be cheap enough for me to send you some paypal cash and pay for the shipping

either way good luck getting those nice speakers!
