D975XBX slow post

Post by Peter Meinl »

With my D975XBX it takes nearly 20 sec until the Intel Logo is displayed.
BIOS 1476
Secondary Sata Controller disabled.

Is this normal, or can I do something about it?

5-6 seconds is normal on the 975XBX, but shouldn't be 20 seconds.

I have the same problem. 20 secs to get to Intel Logo, then long time before boot after that.

I'm using nvidia graphics, IDE DVD drive, 3ware RAID controller.

This is with the latest BIOS. I don't recall that it did this with a previous BIOS, but I don't have the time (nor inclination) to downgrade the bios to check...

I am having about 10 seconds to the intel logo, which is mostly ok. But the annoying part is, my display switches to the alternate input (or turns to standby) because there is no input signal for those ~10 seconds. I'd much rather like to have some output (diagnostics?) than this "nice" logo thingy... :(
