Updating BIOS on the 975XBX2 with the .EXE file - issues?

Post by hexeis »

So last night I upgraded to 2618 with the BX97520J.86A.2618.EB.EXE file.

So windows shuts down, the BIOS is updated, but on the reboot it hangs and I have to turn it off, change the jumper, reset the BIOS settings, save them, turn off the system, return the jumper, and then reboot in order to arrive in Windows.

Is this normal?

the window popped up saying the BIOS was successfully updated and then on the reboots after that it hangs?

I have 2618 on my system and no hangs at all.

i'd execute the bios update, system reboots, and then flashes firmware.

after the firmware update it reboots and hangs before even seeing the MS Windows boot screen. Nothing is shown it's all black.

That's no good... Unplug any devices you don't need and see if that does anything.

i mean afterwards I'd go in and change the jumper, reconfigure bios, shut down and put the jumper back. then on reboot it'd work.
