metalheads?
taking a break from talking of processors, cases, fans, PSUs, mobos, and cards.
now i'm curious as to how many mix computers with metal?
anyone been listening to some good death/black/grind/thrash/speed/melodic metal lately?

Woot! Plus Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Sabbath, Ozzy, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Ministry are all on my iPod for jammin' at work. also the "bubblegum metal bands" like Cinderella, Extreme, Whitesnake, Great White, Skid Row, Queensryche, Ratt, etc, etc.HONkUS wrote:Metallica, Pantera, Rob Zombie

He's definitely unique. You either love his stuff or can't stand it.Antonik wrote:Devin Townsend is a genius, he really has an unique sound, and Ill go as far as saying no one else sounds like him.Tyron wrote:Been listening to Devin Townsend lately. Good stuff.
Another unique offering is Ayreon. Some more good stuff.

awesome!
i'm stoked that anyone replied! as for me, i'm all over the place with my metal: Lamb of God, The Agony Scene, Extol, Children of Bodom, Vader, Dimmu Borgir, Anorexia Nervosa, Taake, Strapping Young Lad, Silent Civilian, Arch Enemy, Dragonforce, Behemoth, and many many more bands are constantly on my metal playlists!
if you ever get into a new band, send them my way, I'll always give them a listen!
if you haven't already, check out http://www.pandora.com
and start your own "radio" stations! make them as exclusive to genre or as whatever as you want. you can even listen to your Devin Townsend, I'm sure!

hell yes man! behemoth is sick, and Vader, well they've been metal since the year before i was born! don't be thinking i'm sucking up any little bit, i happen to think each country puts out its fair share of crappy metal.
i also prefer death metal, black metal, and neo-classical metal to hair metal any day thank you very much!
i've noticed that sweden puts out amazing hardcore but seems to lack in it's metal scene... odd.

My favorites are Slayer, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Pantera. Also like some doom/grey/goth metal bands like My Dying Bride, Tristania, and Agalloch. Agalloch is very interesting folk metal.
I'm not a big fan of hardcore death metal like Napalm Death, and Emperor because they are so over the top I find it difficult to take them seriously. I honestly want to laugh sometimes.
