2 monitors and 8800gtx?

Post by Ebbing »

I have a 20 inch viewsonic LCD and i am picking up the 22" Samsung 226BW

What i was wondering if anyone knows if i can run 2 monitors on the 8800gtx, it has 2 DVI ports on the back of the card.

Thanks.

Yup. You can.

Yu'll have to go into the NVidia Control Panel and select the second monitor to extend your desktop, instead of just having it mirrored like it will be at default.

Hopefully both of your monitors will have a DVI connection. If not, you will need to use the adaptor that should be included with the 8800. I love dual screen setups myself!

Have fun!

Not only can you do dualview but you can even use monitors with different aspect ratios! im running a 19 inch 4:3 CRT and a 22 inch 16:10 lcd with dualview and its great! After using dualview I cant see just using one monitor.

I'm still dying for them to figure out that 2 is good, but 3 is great. We need 3 monitors for us gamers. It would be pure sexiness to play a fps/flight sim/driving sim with 3 monitores

they are viewsonic vx2025. and yes they are very nice monitors. However i would look into the dell 22in wide monitors since they are cheaper and 2inches bigger.

bought the new samsung 226bw , its a very nice monitor if you get the S model which i got the last S model they had at circuit city. It has very little back light bleeding, probably the least back light bleeding ive seen in any 22 inch monitor out there.
