Running two instances on Dual Core Cpu

Post by dgood »

So I have the graphical client running and I read recently you can run two instances of the console version since it only runs on one core at a time. However can I keep the graphical version running and run the console version on the other core? and How do I set affinity to the different processes so when they start up automatically they are already on different cores?

All you need to do is run the gpu client and then the cpu client (console, service or standard client)

Just make sure it's one of each. XP will take care of scheduling the tasks between the two cores automatically.

I give up, I did it and it messed up my graphical client making it get a new wu when it wasn't done so I lost another nearly done wu trying this lol. damnit. I'll just leave one instance on this computer even if it is dual core.

Sounds like your setup isn't stable!

what do you mean?
I don't have problems completing wu's just when I'm running the graphical version and I try to open a console version it seems to screw up or read from it and then try to get a new wu and it interferes with it.

that's because its not recommended you run a console and graphical at the same time.
