Silverstone TJ09,is it a reverse ATX case?

Post by barfly »

Does anyone know if this is a reverse ATX case, where a motherboard is being mounted vertically? I tried to find info on their site but couldn't.

motherboard is always mounted vertically in all cases. Do you mean that the motherboard is mounted upside down? Normally the CPU socket is at the top.

Hi All,

It's a standard ATX Case. I have the Silverstone TJ07, & the Motherboard is mounted the same way.

I'm not sure what i mean anymore, i am pretty confused by this. I guess what i meant to ask is whether the motherboard is mounted in a standard position like in most ATX cases. I've read somewhere that a Silverstone TJ06 is a reverse ATX case, so i was afraid that TJ09 is the same way. Judging from what jtm55 said it is not reverse, but a standard ATX, so it is ok then.

the tj09 has the side motherboard access panel (as looking at the front) on the left, so the motherboard is mounted in a standard fashion (cpu at top), now if it opened on the right, then the board would be mounted upside down (cpu at bottom). the TJ-06 is a good example of the upside down mounting.

the mounting hole pattern is the same between the two configurations, so no worries as to if the board will mount ok.

Thanks for dispelling my concerns. I guess i was worrying about nothing and i have to stop listening to people who don't know what they are talking about. Someone i know told me that a motherboard will have to be mounted upside down in all cases that have a PSU on the bottom (like this case for example). I'm still pretty new at this and still have much to learn. Thanks for your help.

With the TJ-09 you might need longer PSU wires, but that depends on the location of the hook ups on the board.

I'm planning on getting Silverstone Zeus 850W PSU, i figure that it should work perfectly with TJ09 case since they are both made by the same company. But if it turns out that i will need these longer wires i'll pick them up. Thanx for the tip.
