Post by anupam3956 »

{onboard fsb=800mhz}
actually i have 865gbf but it has agp slot and i want to get a pci express without having to change the processor
m not sure whether my pro is pinned or pinless

I'm in the same position you are with a 865gbf and 512k cache 3 GHZ p4. I think all the 512k cache p4 jobbers are socket 478, so I think that's what you're after.

Newegg only has 1 board with socket 478, pcie, sata, DDR1-400 2GB max
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813157106
Note newegg lists 677 as max fsb, mobo manual lists 800.
50 bones.

Via chipset though
Here is the vendors page and manual for the board:
http://www.asrock.com/manual/P4VM890.pdf

I was hoping performance AGP cards would be super cheap as the interface is obsolete, of course they're priced just shy of the cost of a new pcie system. :finga:

edit: bah only 2 mem slots listed, sry. I found an asus via google socket 478 pcie, but I couldn't find it for sale. I'm saying good riddance when I can afford it.
