Is GeForce 7600 GT 256MB DDR3 Good?

Post by sleepyhollow »

I have this card and have used it for about a year now, maybe little less? Anyway, I was wondering if I should upgrade the card now or wait a couple more months? If I should upgrade now, than to what model and of course I wouldn't spend more then $200 on it.

wait till the summer for all the DX10 cards to come out. Nvidia has the 8600 series in your range, for about 150$ and I'm sure ATI will have a card in that range too.

Yep, u'll be able to get a good bargain on DX10 cards if u wait a bit.You can buy an 8600GT easily then whch will be well within ur budget.

7600 GT is a good card(I'm also using two of them) & it can run most games but if u wanna play Oblivion or stuffz like that u'll need a DX10 card for sure.

I dont wanna pony up the dough for the 8800, so Im holding out for an 8600 card also. Games like Vanguard are graphically demanding. With my 7600gs, and game settings all on lowest, I get like 20 fps which is totally unnaceptable. I feel the need...the need for speed! :)

Only games I play often are BF1942, sometimes BF2 and FEAR Combat. BF1942 on my old PC with GeForce 5700.

If you aren't running Vista (or plan to in the near future) then don't worry about the DX10 cards.

Although the 8600GTS performance turned out to be generally disappointing it will suit you fine. Maybe even the 8600GT will be enough
