This month and the following months after that I will have to pay monthly $57.99 + Tax for my 4 Mbps/384 Kbps connection.
I'm thinking about switching to Wide Open West which offers for the same price this 6Mbps Internet (500kbps upload).
Is comcast about to rip me off? What can I do? I'm thinking about calling them in about a month and asking for a special deal, if not, than I guess goodbye?
My speeds right now on downloads (patches/game mods) are between 34 - 51kb's /sec.
What you guys think?
Is this a rip-off?

Only choices I have in Michigan in my area is either Comcast, and I called them and they won't lower the amount from $57.99 for 4mb/364 speed.
For that amount I think I'm gonna called Wide Open West and get 6Mbps Internet (500kbps upload).
You think that's a better deal? There is no DSL in my area, which sucks. Only this is ConCast and woW.

Just called "WoW" (sucks too) and the asshat representative there told me I need to "use" their "modem" to have the 6Mbps Internet (500kbps upload) for $57.99 "guaranteed" + $2.99 for their modem and + taxes...what a joke, another rip-off.
Also "she" told me I need to pay $20 for the "installation"...I'm like..I already have WoW Box and Cable outside my house, I can just hook it up to my "modem" and you give you my serial/Mac address and stuff, no no, $20 installation, Technician must come...um okey, GTFO!
Michigan sucks, can't even get DSL! Stuck with conCast now, WoW ****.

thats no good... you might try calling comcast and complaining that your connection is slow. I have heard good things with complaining to comcast and them boosting speeds.
