Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC

Post by Seraphiel »

Basically, is this display an improvement for gaming and CAD, over my current Samsung 225BW (22" 1680 * 1050)? In terms of visual quality, color range etc.

Anyone out there with first hand experience with this display?

Regards.

Absolutely, it has 8 more inches of real-estate, as well as what most consider the best picture of any screen out there. The resolution is also huge, you WILL need a fast processor (E6700+) and even faster graphics to supply this baby with pixels....keep that in mind. 8800 GTS 640 or higher in SLI should give her enough juice to keep it running. If you cant afford that, try something with 512mb of memory on it....

Rock on.

Thank you.

I had hoped to hear something like that. I have the QX6700 + 8800 GTX SLI combo, and I hope that wont diminish my performance at that resolution.

I usually V-Sync gaming (with TB = on), and on some occasions I do experience slowdowns. Dunno if it is driver related or something else.

Would love to see some photo's of that setup, and maybe some screenshots of a game or two for some screen real estate comparison.

BWALL just got a 30" to use for LR video card testing... I'm sure he can fill you in on the none HC version.

i hope you dont mind my asking, how's that Samsung 225BW been treating you? i've been looking at a few 22" monitors, and thats one of the few i've narrowed it down to, you just can't beat firsthand reviews
Cyberpower generic case
B450M PRO-VDH MAX
Ryzen 5 3600 w/PBO/OC
CM Hyper 212 EVO push/pull
Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3600 CL16
MSI RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 3X 8G OC LHR
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB
6GB Seagate HDD
EVGA 650BQ 650W PSU
ASUS VE278 27" monitor, Dell E2216HV (vertical)
Logitech Z533 2.1 Speakers, G935 7.1 or G435 headset
MS LXM-00001 keyboard
Razer Deathadder Elite, XBOX One Lunar Shift controller

I've come a long way from my original Core2Duo E6750 build y'all! :supz:

Nice setup, I know someone that's got something like it. 8)

Dan, something like this? Yes that's a 24" Dell next to it.

My model isn't the HC but the color on my WFP is terrific, in my opinion much better than the 24". The 24" is a PVA panel while the 30" is an S-IPS panel.

If you're looking for a similar model HP has their LP3065 panel which uses the exact same panel as the Dell HC, but includes 3 DVI connections. Your panel is a TN so you would see quite a bit of difference in color quality (6-Bit TN vs 8-Bit for S-IPS). I noticed a big difference going from my 19" TN Samsung to the 24". In the past S-IPS have had problems with low contrast ratio but the 30" HC/LP3065 addresses that issue.
