if the game is asking for more vertual memory then its looking for you to increase the size of your pageing file. So are you running XP or another win version.
As for ram i say get something cheap, not much point in investing in good ram on a dell. FWI you should look at gettting 256 or 512mb of pc2100.

hey there. here are a couple things you can try to speed up your "classic" computer. first, right click on my computer, either on the desktop or in your start menu. under the "advanced" tab, click on the performance button. under the first tab, visual settings, click on "adjust for best performance". this will use less resources and make your computer faster, but it will also not look as cool.
next, click on the "advanced" tab. at the bottom of the window, there is a button that says "change". this is for the paging file. everyone has their own opinion on how big this should be, and it also depends on your computer, but i would think somewhere betwen 300 and 600mb will be good.
RAM is very inexpensive now. you can get 512mb of name brand value memory for around $80. but those simple things will help you speed your computer up a little. then there are the other standard things. ad-aware, spybot, the programs that load when windows starts (services.msc and msconfig). a lot of useful stuff can be found at blackviper.com. i have seen 333mhz computers run windows xp faster than some 3ghz computers, so your computer is most likely not too slow. it just needs some love.
