So we had some tornadoes....
Me being the weather nut that i am, more so than computers, and haveing one of the worst storms blow through while i am at work SUCKS!!!!!
I had brought my radio with me to work because i knew bad weather was going to be rolling in later that day, and boy did it. We had reports of over 5 tornadoes hit the metroplex, one of which i was listening to the storm spotters, was less than 5 miles from my house. (I work in dallas 23 miles away mind you) I was trying to make phone calls to my parents and GF trying to warn them, but of course phones are the first thing to go out during a major event. After the storm rolled through i was finally able to contact them before the storm hit me in dallas. My parents said thier skylights busted out from the baseball size hail and was landing IN THE HALLWAY FROM THE BATHROOM!!! My GF's card got pretty smashed up from the hail....
but the thing that got me the whole time was this tornado which was reported to be right over my house.....

This was the monster that wasnt right over my house but was 5 miles away headed straight for it. We were fortunate not to have any tornado damage, but that is the closest my property (i cant say me because i was in FREAKING DALLAS AT WORK) has ever gotten to a tornado. If i was at home it would have been me taking that pic. LOL I will have to see if i can get the video from my survallience cameras of the golf ball size hail.
LOL BTW that tornado is right across from where i use to work when i was with Nextel. DANG! I know this isnt as cool of a story if it had hit us or was closer, but by god was this sure close to home!!!

i've been in a little town outside of fort hood and around waco (not specifically sure which city it is cause i'm only here for my friends wedding and all) and right after the ceremony today (around 7 pm) locals noticed clouds travelling quickly in opposite directions. within 5 minutes the locals at the reception were GONE. the rest of us were sort of like wtf is happening and then got the hell outta there when we realized the locals were ghost. glad you didn't get roughed up man! i'll be back in VA within 12 hours but at least i won't have to worry about some Wizard-of-Oz tornado s**t lol

It's a weird feeling isn't it? You are thinking "wow, that is soo cool" instead of "holy crap, we should take cover"...
We had one stroll straight down a busy street on the south side of town a few years back. In the end, a whole lot of cars got damaged, but it only took out one building which was one of them title loan places lol.
Glad you made it thru!

That is crazy video! I hope the TRE station is open tomorrow night I got Stars tickets! The station is right accross the highway from that Shell Station, like just about where that tornado hit. I go there probably three times a month, if the Stars won their division id of been there waiting for the train to go to game 2 when it hit. wow.
