I have done no changes to my CPU in a long time so I know I didn't mess anything up, but here is my problem.
RAM checks ok and it gets to the
verifying DMI pool data... (this clears and the next line is)
A disk read error occurred
press ctrl+alt+del to restart
but that does nothing
I check all voltages off the P/S they seem fine, checked the battery that reads ok, could the HD be bad?
Any help is always appricated

If you boot in to BIOS can you see the HD? If your BIOS has the option to detect HD do so and see if it's still there. I was working on a friends machine with a removable 'hot swap' IDE drive this week and had the same problem with a clean install of Windows. Only got it to work after removing the HD in the 'hot swap' and replacing it with another
