need a recovery tool
Hi,
I wish you might help choose XP compliant utility to restore erased file. It is valuable and I need it back badly. Filesystem is NTFS.

Hi,
I propose using Active@ Undelete. The tool will help, it can also launch from it's bootdisk even if OS is down

GetDataBack is well worth its $100 price tag...
The only thing that is "better" in my opinion is OnTrack and their software, Easy Recovery Professional.

Recuva
Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!
Never used it so I cannot say if it works or not.

Kind of along the same line... any of these tools work for a dead drive (i.e. unrecognized in bios, ubuntu, XP, or MicroScope)?
