Cpu Fan?

Post by CMcguire »

Hey, When i get my new q6600 i am not really thinking of overclocking it (well at the moment enyway might change my mind) is the stock fan enough cooling? is it noisey?

Or do you think i should replace the fan?
Personally im more concerned with performance then price so willing to buy another fan.

I'm using the $30 Thermaltake Big Typhoon VX HSF and it's running my QX6700 at 1333FSB x 10 multi for a final clock frequency of 3.33GHz and it idles at 37C which isn't too bad for an overclocked quad core on air cooling.
