Need a new Power Supply

I got an ATI X850XT after sending in my X800XL for RMA. I currently have a DEER 380W power supply.

In the end, I need a power supply that is cheap, will have enough power to power my new X850XT. Can you guys please help me choose a good power supply from Canada Computers or Tiger Direct.

I took a look around at Tiger Direct and found this Ultra power supply http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/ ... T31845%20K

At Canada Computers, I found this Enermax one http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.ph ... cid=PS.808, and Cooler Master one http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.ph ... cid=PS.808.

Can you guys help me choose a power supply? Thanks.

i own that ultra pow supply very good imo. im running a

x2 4200
evga 590 sli
pny 6600
2 gigs of ram
and a antec 900 gamer case ( it has about 5 fans on it)

i recoment it.

Any other good power supplies for $100 before I make my decision? Also, is the Cooler Master one a good one? It seems pretty good and it wasn't on Dicecca's PS to avoid list.

I haven't seen much on there PSUs, which isn't good or bad. Its too bad the Corsair 520 is so overpriced up in Canada. I mean you get it for less than 100$ here in the states. Lets put it this way, I only recommend PSUs I'd be comfortable putting in my personal rig, and I wouldn't use an Ultra. Yes Nate had a good test and what not, but I still don't trust them, just yet. Well in the end, I got a OCZ GameXStream 600W power supply. I will try to install this power supply into my rig. It is my first time installing a power supply. Wish me luck.

I got a question. My X850XT needs an additional power connector. Do I use the power connector from ATI, or do I use the one that's directly connected to the power supply.

doesn't really matter. Powerstream isn't a bad PSU, I personally wouldn't use it, but I'm a PSU freak. But that PSU will keep you set for a while, your rig doesnt use that much power

yes, I would just use the PCI-E connector with the PSU.

Ok. Thanks dicecca, I'm wondering how I should swap the power supply right now. Doesn't seem too hard, as long as I'm careful with it.

The power supply is now installed. The computer has been turned on for 30min and it's run strong with no problems at all! My first attempt at building a computer (swapping a power supply)....SUCCESS

Now I have to update the BIOS, and then format the hard drive. Hope the BIOS update will go successfully as well, since it is my first time updating the BIOS.

Thanks everyone who helped me change the power supply.

The latest M2N-E BIOS overclocks much better than the early ones by the way.

Guys I have a question. The motherboard has a 24 pin EATXPWR and a 4 pin EATX 12V power connector. Now I know that the 24 pin has to be connected to the power supply, but what about the other 4 pin EATX 12V? Do I connect that as well? Currently I have it connected to the power supply via a 4 pin/8 pin CPU. Sorry if I'm being confusing, but here is a picture of the power connector that is currently connected to the 4 pin EATX 12V connector. http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/p ... sli_ready_ The pin that I used is at the top right corner of the third picture.
