Well,
Worked on another persons computer, used my power cable (yes i already tried another cable) and when I did that it was working just fine before hand, booted and everything ok (but I've been noticing that you would have to hold the switch down for a second).
So tonight, finish work, go to plug mine back in and it spazzes out the fans and barely kicks it up (it's like a car with a bad battery/grounds, its trying but just cant get the juice to start it).
So, I'm thinking this power supply has been going out for a while now and it finally kicked the bucket tonight, what does everyone else think (I will test tomorrow).
At this point, if it's the motherboard the only decision I have at that time will be do I want to build a custom system, transfer all of my old stuff (shouldnt run more than $500 if less than that, still have video card, etc) or just to buy a damn alienware desktop that I've been eyeing for a while...
@$@$ Computer
I'd test the PSU by swapping it out with a spare or see if you can bum a buddies. It sounds like the PSU is crapping out on you.
I had similar issues about a year or two back when an old Antec PSU I died on me. Not thinking it was the PSU that was the problem I kept pushing the system to get my data backed up and it ended up frying a couple of connections.

Caps are leaking inside of it, I guess I shouldn't be testing things out at 2 AM with no lights! :S (grrr girlfriend).
Anyway, so I got it to work last night but turned it off again thank god as the way I got it to start wasn't "Tech Approved".
Anywho, I got a new PSU in here now, it's a little junky one, I'm calling Antec to see if there's a warrenty on this because if not I'm just going to build a whole new system and probbaly sell this.
I've got Vista's prettyness turned off, because there's no 6 pin connector on the PSU for the 7800GT I'm using now, so anything with GFX = slowwwww...
You had the same exact PSU I had...same heat shrink, braiding at least...True Power 430w

They said it wasn't if the caps were leaking...tell me why the caps leaking are my fault?bubba wrote:Yours is newer than mine, it was a 300w Yours may still be under warranty, mine wasn't.
I've already torn the f'cker apart Office Space style after hearing that, I'll just buy a new one with a new system and transfer my video card, etc to it and sell this just as a OEM system.

No, I waited until they told me they werent going to do anything after arguing with them for hours...then I went office space on it, of course I saved the huge 120mm, maybe it might leak something else and stop working too though! lol
As it sits, there's bits and pieces laying inside the inside of the psu holder, if anyone needs any cables off of it for their own PSU to add in, let me know I'll cut and ship!
