Hello:
I have been using an Intel D975XBX2 MOBO with a Core Duo E6600 CPU for the last three months. My system seems to work fine and with time i have tried some test software such has the CPU Z 140 program to read values from my hardware system.
WHEN I LOOK AT THE FIRST TAB (cpu) OF THE CPU Z 140 PROGRAM I SEE SOME VALUE DISCREPANCIES WITH WHAT MY SYSTEM SHOULD GIVE ME.
THE MULTIPLIER VALUE FLUCTUATES BETWEEN TWO VALUES: 6 AND 9 WHICH GIVES A CORE SPEED OF 1600 OR 2400 mhz.
ON THE OTHER HAND THE HTML REPORT SEEMS TO INDICATES THE RIGHT NUMBERS SEE THE DATA BELOW with the *********:

MY QUESTIONS ARE :
1) IS THAT SOFTWARE cpu-z-140 RELIABLE ? I get 2 different readings !
2) Is there any other tool that can read the same data so i can compare
3) If CPU Z 140 give the right readings, do I have an issue or is that fluctuation of the multiplier normal ?
thanks in advance

Speedstep. Even if you force it off , it wont make your 3dmark numbers higher. Its an efficient way to save power when the CPU is idle.SergioLeNo1 wrote:Hello..
