New Racing Game

Post by Alathald »

Well, with all the commercials for Forza2, I'm wanting a new racing game  . I've been a BIG GT fan since the beginning, even laid down the money for the wheel (which is nice) but damn it if Forza2 ain't pretty  . Too bad I don't own a xBox360 (though I have been considering one).
What's everyone else think of this game? Just hype? Can you suggest any good games that would compare for PC?

Thanks for any feedback!

Nothing compares to my Gran Turismo 4 in driving.

Though I did enjoy the first Need for Speed Underground on PC. Those games aren't bad. They just have the same problem as most driving games, not enough cars and maps.

Turismo 4 has a ton of cars and maps. :P

GT4 rocks!!! In fact, I'm actually quite excited about GT5, though I don't own a PS3 (or any 7th gen consoe for that matter). I've been waiting for things to calm down and prices to come down before buying a new console, I'm just not sure if I can wait till next year for GT5 (Lambo's AND damage modeling? finally!!!). I'll have to check out GTR2 and GT Legends to hold me off till next spring. :drinkers:

Forza 1 on the xbox was AWESOME! I just wish I still had it. I would say it is just as good as the GT series. (though I never played 3, only 2).

I would buy forza 2 if I had an xbox 360

i might get forza if my system can run it, and i am a dedicated Gran Turismo Fanatic, I have and love all 4, except some of the glitches that dont let you get 100% completion :x , love the gameplay, realisticness and variety in cars and adjustable parts, the spoilers are a little on the basic side though in GT4, kinda pointless unless you want to make a car stupid looking

I liked in GT2 how you could change the gear ratios... My friend and I were competing for top speed, and I managed to beat him only because I found a good gear ratio. It is amazing how detailed they get.

A friend and I used to do that, but we usually got distracted and rather than top speed, we went for who could "cartwheel" our car the most times, which actually required a high top speed on the test track and slamming into the outside wall at a good angle (~45°). Ahh, good times...

Yeah, you gotta find the right angle to hit the wall, then it bounces up like your driving up the wall and when the backend touchs down you start flipping sideways...supped up Dodge Viper GTS seems to work well...

as for flying, I may have to find a gameshark and get a bit more outta GT4

it only started as me borrowing GT3 + Game shark from a kid i know, but after a bad decision on his part, he let me buy them both for $10(total), but i cant update the shark online because its too old, so i gotta buy a new one for GT4 :x
