Found an Antec 300 Watt Psu Enough Power for Athlon 64?

Post by dgood »

Model Number: pp-303x 300w
Switching Power Supply

That number you wanted for the UL or whatever ( the Backward RL) is E176105

14A +3.3 rail
30A +5 rail
10A +12 rail

I want to use it to power a athlon 64 x2 system with an x800xt in it if its possible. or just an athlon 64 4000+ system. that'll have that same x800xt. Also it'll have 1 stick of ddr ram and a sata hd. and a case fan or two. I looked it up on the calculator and with the 4000+ It says 301Watts. I figured it might work, but preferably i'd use it with a 3800x2. I mean its a long shot I know but hey I figured I'd ask it is an antec psu and the calculator is said to "overestimate".

I suggest a 375W PSU, and I didn't over estimate for what you need.

I figured I"d need close to 400watts, but I was using the calculator and got close to 300 watts but a little above just wanted to know if it'd work, I"ll probably try it as I"ll need a psu when my motherboard and case come back and if it doesn't work then I"ll get a better one.

By all means you should always tried. But be fully aware of the risks you're taking, if you don't know the real risks involved then read this THREAD.
