Yeah, combination of hardware problems and time to mess around with it. However, I now have 3 rigs folding again.

This might be off topic, but does Apop still fold? I havn't seen him fold in a LONG time. I'm thinking of quitting folding cus my room is ULTRA hot. Downstairs, it's nice and cool, but upstairs the temp must be at least 3 degrees higher than what it is downstairs.

3 WU's down and now I've installed the SMP client. My 4800 X2 should do pretty well. It's not a c2d, but it's a good cpu.

man I have liek 3 dual cores but I couldnt' get hte windows smp client to work so I just graphical all of them lol, I know im' a slacker. I tried the gpu but its too hot during summer to have my gpu near 80c constant. So I never finished the wu for the gpu. x1800 just doesn't do as well as the x1900 anyway even oc'd. Nice to see you back folding.

I'll have a VMware Linux Guide up within the end of next week. That should help you out considerably

dgood, try to get smp client up and running. With three machines on smp client you will really help the team. Just watch your core temps. When I switched to smp. My core temp. went up 20F. I'm running at about 180F.

sounds like you have some cooling issues. My E6400 machine overclocked from 2.13 to 2.64, running WinSMP both cores at 100% only raises only goes up to about 36C/98F. It has a Big Typhoon CPU cooler on it.

My E6600 overclock from 2.4 to 3.37 WinSMP with a Tuniq Tower 120, folds around 40C/104F.

If you are running at 180F while folding, or even at 160F while not that seems VERY high to me.
