This could help fix the raid card/HBA add-in issues - Ill try and give it a try.

I am trying to update the BIOS from 2634 to the 2770 and am having a problem. i downloaded the #3 update from intel and extracted it to a folder on the desttop where there are three files. i double click on the iflash.exe and get a cli for a few seconds and then the screen goes black for about 10 seconds and then returns to the desktop. i wait awhile and re-boot and check the BIOS and it is still the 2634. Anyone know what is going on here ???
thanks,
gene

I use the iflash method for myself, but this utility is for DOS/FreeDOS/PCDOS boot disks (floppies) or USB keys with DOS on them. You cant run iflash.exe from windows as it is a dos program that requires direct access to the hardware, which is forbidden by windows.

I've used the recovery jumper, iflash, windows-prep and the ISO. The easiest way to update these boards by far is the ISO, burn the ISO, boot it from a CD, and be done with it.

If you want to flash from windows, use:
Express BIOS Update [BX97520J.86A.2777.EB.EXE]
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/13825/e ... 777.EB.EXE

Express BIOS is the one that works from Windows, which basically does a prep by send the BIO file into a location, and then upon reboot read the BIO from that location and updating it using a method involving system management rather than having a utility like iflash program the part directly.
Think for yourself, question authority!
